No offence to our new members and I know most of you are genuine, but to protect you and all our members from spambots, I have decided to make a couple of changes.
I have been fighting off a lot of spambots lately and I'm pleased to say we are winning. wondering why they keep tying to get in the forum I decided to do some research, and it seems that a lot of the new type spambots want to register not to post but to search the members list and profiles for any email addresses and information they can find.
So from today members with less than 5 posts will not be able to view the member lists or members profiles. this should help protect our members new and existing from getting their information found from these horrible little bots.
I hope you all agree this is a good decision and I welcome your comments. Once again sorry to new members with less than 5 posts, but you are welcome to make a post in the hello section or anywhere else. you will be surprised how easy it is to get to 5 posts, and you will feel more of a part of the community.
If you are desperate to see other members profiles you could always make 5 random posts in the "Test Section" not the best of options but I want to give the genuine people the chance to use all the forums facility's. and a bot as far as I know wouldn't be able to make 5 posts and would go away, leaving us in peace with genuine people.
If you are a spambot reading this then please go Here: NO LINKS ALLOWED
Thanks.
Fred.
