My Psoriasis was 99% in control. Feb 2014 I had to stop my Humira for 2 moths while I had colon surgery.(Humira use was 2+ years) Now nothing will help and it has spread to my whole body. Currently the doc is trying Remicade for 3 months now but no results. And it is not helping my arthritis. Large swollen patches with burning feeling. Anyone else have to stop meds and go back on them to have them not work?

Hello Grandma (That feels odd calling you Grandma maybe I'll call you 5x5) Hello 5x5 I have tried all the bio treatments apart from Simponi and some did stop working for me too, I have psoriatic arthritis and have been completely locked up with it in the past but Stelara has worked for me.

Have you tried Enbrel that was good for me, but it just stopped working.

You say you had to stop Humira but it was working, could you not just go back on it now?

Welcome to Psoriasis Club by the way.

Regards.

Fred.

Hi there and Welcome to the club I'm sorry you are having these problems with your medication. I was wondering why you weren't put back on Humira, as it worked for you.
It's a shame they, changed it is there some reason to do with your colon operation do you think.
Well I can't help, with your query as I have never been on biologicals.
All I can do is offer my support. And hope you get some relief soon.
You have come to the right place for information that is easy to access and here you will be among fellow sufferers who all have psoriasis in common. And can browse without wading through spam or cures.
I look forward to hearing how things pan out for you and hope someone will offer you some good advice .......

Sorry just noticed Fred has already posted his thoughts, I'm sure you will get more

Good luck... Jim

Sorry to hear that Humira quit working for you. Did your doctor have any insight as to if the surgery or just coming off of it for a few months have anything to do with it not working? I hope they find something that works again for you and you get relief!

Your body can build up drug antibodies so to speak that inhibits the biologics from working properly. Your best bet is to move to tnf variant or something completely different. Enbrel died after 6 months or so and Humira did nothing...

Stelara would be my first choice
Orencia would be my next choice for PsA (doesn't work for axial symptoms)
Xeljanz if nothing else works

Hopefully that will buy you a year until new drugs come out.
