That's correct. Live links to webpages are not possible, but live links to pictures by means of the img thingy's are possible.

Good that MTX is out !!!

Hi
It's been awhile since I last visited the site. Just wanted to say I know exactly how you feel. Was at the G.p. this morning as I am itching and joints are so sore. Told them I had now reached my limit for pain (already on tramadol). Luckily it was a new doctor to the practice, who when I explained that they keep diagnosing different things for feet pain, ankle pain, back pain. Now it's in my hands, shoulder and neck. He immedialty is referring to rheumatology, back to dermatologist, blood tests, he agrees, is certain it is psoriatic arthritis. Given me acupan to try with the tramadol as temp fix .Trying to go to work with it has been a nightmare and finally I am miserable. At least I will finally see the rheumatologist, only taken 8 years!
However I know it's just a rough patch, (excuse pun!) and who knows in a few months things could be very different.
Take Care
Sandra

Hi Sandra
You sound as if you have been having a rough time since you were last here .
Thank goodness your new GP has referred you to a rheumatologist, as you say it's a pity someone didn't do that earlier
Hopefully you can now get on some medication that will deal with the problem not just the symptoms
Hopefully it won't take a few months for you to get relief but at least they have sent you to the right department and you can be cheerful to think you may soon get on some good medication that will keep it in the background
Jim

Hello Sandra,

That does not sound good, all this pain in the past years. And in all those joints ! You seem to have the same Jim and I, PsA or psoriatic arthritis. But normally PsA sticks to the tiny joints of hands and feet.
Good that you now are seeing a rheumatologist, but beware, those doctors are old fashioned. With that I mean that they will probably try to set you on MTX, methotrexate, one of the worst psoriasis medications.
And more, it appears more and more that it does not help on PsA.
You can read the article Methotrexate no better than Placebo for Psoriatic Arhtritis on our own psoriasisclub, and you can google on methotrexate no better than placebo for psoriatic arthritis Dr. Christopher T. Ritchlin,

Take the research with you if you are going to the reumatologist, I have been there also, see also MTX for a discussion, and other posts.

Keep us posted maybe we can be of further help to you.
Caroline

Just a small correction I only have plain old psoriasis not PSA thank goodness Fred has PSA and is on Stelara for it and it's working very well
You Caroline are on psorinovo I believe and that's for your PSA isn't it?
Me on Fumaderm for my psoriasis but should work for PSA as well as it's similar to Caroline's preparation, but as Caroline says go armed with what you want , try not to be palmed off with methotrexate if you can avoid it, although some swear by it
