Strides Arcolab an Indian pharmaceutical company headquartered at Bangalore in southern India has been given FDA approval for Methoxsalen

There is no such thing as competition in the US drug market. If it's generic the pharmacy stores charge whatever they want. Sometimes the generic cost as much as the non generic.

There really isn't any competition (at least not at customer end). It just means that someone new is manufacturing drug. The third party retailers set the price. Nobody shops around for the cheapest retailer because the insurance covers it.
