I have a quick question – does any of the women (most men don't have this problem) on this site have any magic solution for yeast infections? I am the unlucky recipient of a bacterial infection and now have a yeast infection in just about any place that has a fold in my body. To make things worse, I know have inverse psoriasis in several of those locations. Drying out the areas where the yeast infection occurs helps with that problem, but causes my inverse psoriasis to spread. I have been mixing antifungal creams with low dose corticosteroid cream without much luck.

This part may be too much info. Stop reading if you do not want to hear about the bacterial infection. I have postulates all over certain locations of my body. My GP said it’s a bacterial infection. I am ½ way done with my antibiotic and I have more postulates than before. I can’t see my dermatologist until the 21st, and I am ready for my Stelera injection. My dermatologist says to go ahead and take it, but not sure I am comfortable.

Probably not much help, but I would say go with the Stelara shot as I know of no problem related with yeast infections. However having said that if it keeps coming back then it could possibly be worth further investigation.

Also probably of not much help but here is a study that may be of interest. Oral Thrush and Psoriasis

I'm assuming that the shot safe- I took my Humira with staff infection. Can't say I am not a bit worried though. My doctor said there are specific types of infection to worry about, but what I described isn't of concern.

Fred, your always helpful. Big Grin I have been tested for diabetes a bajillion times and my BS is normal. I read enough peer reviewed journal articles to state a lot of people with inverse have yeast infection issues. My dermatologist doesn't understand why it doesn't clear up with the two creams. I am just interested in any ideas to help with the yeast. I'm sure the Stelara with help with the p. I'm tired of walking around smelling like a took a bath in vinegar. I have already tried shots of acidic drinks to lower PH.

1) don't wash with soap. But probably you know that already.
2) there are specific creams, i know that, though I luckily don't have to use them.
But sometimes I can have some itchy toes because of a fungi-like infection. Then I use miconazol in powder form. For me that works like magic, two times application mostly is enough.

I called my dermatologist and complained about my issues. He said he is ok delaying my shot for a couple weeks until it's cleared. He want's to focus on getting rid of the infections first and dealing with the psoriasis later. Basically, he wants to dry the area out and use anti fungal cream. I guess I will give it a shot, but I am not to keen with drying out area with inverse psoriasis. As it stands now, its a mild flare, but....

I have been spoiled by Stelera and living nearly psoriasis free. I am no longer as tolerant of psoriasis, especially the inverse. I know many members on this forum understand where I come from, but not many people who do not have the condition (or have it bad). Even the doctors don't seem understand. Sorry for complaining, just needed to vent.

Get it off your chest, I find this a good platform for that because people here do understand and have been there themselves.
I don't know how I will react if ever I have to stop my treatment, because as you say if you have a treatment that works well and have it reduced so it's not as effective, then I would get frustrated
Stay positive if you can
Jim

You don't need to apologise, Psoriasis Club is a place where you can share with others who understand.

I know what you mean about being spoiled and being almost psoriasis free, if I get even a tiny flare-up I start thinking Oh No. But like Jim said (and you know this anyway) but keep positive mate. Thumb

My yeast infection is semi cleared, so I took my Injection. Three hours later (6 45) I went to bed. Not sure why, but I always sleep after injection. I still have the bacterial infection, but oh well
