Psoriasis is an auto-immune reaction where your body is attacking your skin. If it was this easy to treat auto-immune problems, then Multiple Sclerosis, Rheumatoid Arthritis, and other auto-immune disease would already be cured.

You will find lots of so called cures for psoriasis on the Internet. Don't Fall For It There Is No Cure! you will be wasting your money on nothing more than a diet and life style approach. Do a Google search for "psoriasis affiliate programs" instead and see how much people are making.

They will lead you in with claims like: I cured psoriasis find out how / Cure for psoriasis / Dr X reveals the secrets on curing psoriasis / Professors Predicted I Would Die With Psoriasis. or one of my favorites is a website about a product being a scam and still trying to sell it to you via the links.

*I challenge anyone to give us some free samples of their products or books to send out to our members and let them post the results here.

Like I said save your money. get a positive attitude, keep happy, avoid stress, use loads of moisturiser, then look at your diet.

Foods that are bad for psoriasis include:

Saturated Fats: Beef, Pork, Veal, Sausage, Salami, Burgers, Margarine, Etc.
Nightshades: Tomatoes, Tobacco, Peppers, Potatoes, Chili, Etc.
Shellfish: Lobster,Shrimp, Prawn, Crab, Etc.
And: Coffee, Gluten, Yeast, Fried Food, Pizza, Vinegar, Pickles, Spices, Strawberries, Peanut Butter, Alcohol.

An ideal diet for psoriasis would be:
7 Glasses of water.
80% of the following:
Fruit, But no strawberry's or citrus.
Vegetables: 3 that grow above ground and one that grows below ground.
Juices: some people swear by Juices. I'm sure if you do a google search you will find some.
20% of the following:
Grain, Rice, Pasta.
Oily Fish, White Fish.
Poultry, But no skin.
Lamb.
Skimmed Milk, Yogurt,
Others include Olive Oil, Light Tea, 2 Eggs per week.

Doing it and keeping to it is another thing (I Can't) but you will have saved your money on so called Cures that are nothing more than the above information.

I agree only partly with above expression. But I must say, I am a bit of a dissident, but a logical one.

1st) You say, psoriasis is an auto immune reaction. I fully agree.
2nd) You say, your body attacks your skin. No, don't agree. Psoriasis is the expression of your auto immune illness that reflects upon your skin OR otherwise !
The last because it can also express as Arthritis Psoriatica (often also called rheumatoid Arhtritis, but as far as I know its not the same).
3rd) I have found at least my cure in the dimethylfumarate corner. Why? Well because DMF adds to the energy cycle of your cells in such a way that the immune reaction gets circumvented. (this my basic way of describing it, a doctor could do this much better, but I would not understand that).
4rd) which means that DMF works for Psoriasis And for Arthritis Psoriatica. Of course, because it is the same immune disfunction.
5th) Why wouldn't this also work for other immune diseases? Well, it does. First investigations in university hospitals over here learn that DMF also has influence on MS and on Crohn's disease.

Certainly true. Lots of people and organizations earn money on all kinds of treatments.
But keep your eyes open, there is more.
If you have P or AP, you will never get rid of it, but it may very well be possible to live well with it, and have minor burdens.
I will post my story in another part of the forum.

I can only give you my own results, and give you a link to another forum with users of DMF in a specific form.
In a few months, I can forward you scientific information as the research will get its first results.

And of course.... be positive and have a laugh. Smile

I knew we had one somewhere. I was talking with Caroline after she had pulled me up for saying there is No Cure, and I remembered a similar conversation before and this is it.

So I thought I would give it a bump.

Why am I bumping it? Well I get fed up with people joining the forum to try and sell a cure for psoriasis. I have been running this place long enough to spot the signs as have some of our longer term members, and it's always the same old story.

People join and start a new thread using that magical word "Cure" once they realise we don't allow links on Psoriasis Club they try to mention the so called cure by using the product name, what they don't realise is that as soon as they mention the word Cure, we are all over them like a ton of bricks and 9 times out of 10 we are right and they end up getting a ban.

Unfortunately there are some who use the word Cure when it's not really a cure, it's more like it's helping them at the moment and they are so impressed they want to share. If you look through the threads on Psoriasis Club that have the word Cure you will see they are genuine people just trying to share information that may help others, a good example of this is Buttermak3r's thread titled Baking soda for psoriasis he doesn't mention Cure in the title but it is in the actual thread. He didn't come here to try and sell anything, he came here to try and offer help to others. You may not agree with his solution, but he's not trying to rip you off.

So back to this thread, I would like to see what others think of the word Cure when used in the context of a thread about treating psoriasis.
  • Is there such a thing as a cure (relieve the symptoms of a disease or condition) for psoriasis. ?
  • How long does one have to be clear before you can definitely say it's a cure?
  • Should the word Cure be used, or is it misleading?

#1 For me there is no cure for psoriasis.

#2 I would have to be clear for at least 10 years before I would even consider a it a cure, even then I still wouldn't be convinced as I know psoriasis can come back with a vengeance just when you think it's all over.

#3 I find the word Cure wrong to be used when talking about a treatment for psoriasis, there are a lot of people out there who will believe and try anything to rid themselves of it and when it comes back again their hopes have been built up so much it hits them hard. Very hard in some cases.

Well that's just my opinion of the word Cure, over to you. Smile

Doh I fell for it, how do you spot them Fred, I did think they were in for a nasty shock when their psoriasis reappeared. I am well aware there is no CURE I just didn't have the heart to disillusion them.
Must try to be less trusting and Whip their asses
in future
