Hello just a quick update. I've been on MTX now for about 4/5 weeks and at first I noticed my skin was clearer but now looks very red and noticeable. As for the pain for Psa it's no different but I know it's only early days still. I get very sleepy the day after taking MTX and I'm still taking my folic acid 4 days after. I am still going for fortnightly blood tests which they struggle getting blood out of me (I don't like to part with anything lol) I have got a rheumy appointment at the end of November so hopefully they may up my dose and change my bloods to every 4 weeks. Smile

Hello Dawn nice to see you again, and thanks for popping in to update.

What I remember of Methotrexate, it used to make me feel very tired. I'm not sure on how often they check your bloods with MTX maybe worth sending Krissie a PM and ask her, I haven't seen her around for a few days but she won't mind you asking.

You may also be interested in talking with your rheumatologist about this at your appointment: Self-injectable Methotrexate

Keep us updated.

Regards.

Fred.

My psoriasis always looks worse before it gets better. The first few things you will notice when it starts to improve is thinning and slight peeling. Getting rid of the redness takes time and may not fully go away.

Hi I used to be on MTX but gave it up in favour of fumaderm, I found theMTX made me feel unwell the day after taking it and although it worked well. I could not put up with feeling unwell and had a problem swallowing 10 little tablets at once, so I opted for my current treatment which although at the start had some side effects, they seem to have gone now and I feel "normal" most of the time.
I wish you luck with your treatment and hope you tolerate it better than me.
Good luck in the future

The redness seems to of gone down slightly over the last few days but I'm waiting to feel sleepy as I've just taken my MTX again today and also get very red looking cheeks a couple of days after taking it. I've noticed I don't feel as hungry either which is a good thing as I love food and having quit smoking I was using food as a substitute lol. Thank you for your responses. Take care x

The red face could possibly be flushing; may be either medication or disease. A significant drop in hunger is never a good thing. I'd monitor it and if it gets worse and complain about it if does.
