Ok, so I am not sure if I am posting in the correct place or not.... My name is Deborah and I am 50 years old.  I was diagnosed with PA back in 1997 and for the most part have been on Enbril or a long time.  Unfortunately for me the side effects outweighed the benefits and last November I stopped taking all meds.. ON a plus, I have not been  sick with an upper respitory infection since January and I use to get them 3-5 times a year, down side, my psoriasis and arthritis is at an all time high and I feel horrible.  I am welcome to any advice or suggestions that you all have and I am glad to have finally found a group of people who all have what I do.... Hi Deborah I'm glad you found us.   to the forum you have found a great place to discus your options with members with the same problems as you.
You have probably noticed that we are a friendly information and support group, and all information is shared by members with no outside influences, as probably the only site of its type that can boast complete independence l, we are free from spam. And you will notice that there are no internet nasties here.

So having said all that I will say that I think Fred may move this to a position it might be seen better

You say you were on enbrel but had adverse effects and are now on no treatment. My first suggestion is to get back to see the dermatologist and ask for one of the newer biological drugs as there are several more that target different cells and may be better tolerated by you

But I have never been on biological drugs.  But I'm sure others who have used them will know better than me.
There are many options and you will find descriptions of them all on the prescribed treatment boards

Sorry, Hi Deborah  and a warm welcome to the Club. Other than echoing Jim's suggestion of revisiting the Dermys again I can't offer much help on biologics. I'm only 3 months into Acitretin ( and doing quite well with minimal side effects). Feel free to ask any questions, there is generally somebody about. Or if you need offload we all need to sometime. On a lighter note there is the off topic section, it generally puts a smile on most peoples faces

Hello Deborah   to Psoriasis Club.

I have moved your post to it's own thread here as it will get noticed better by others.

Shame Enbrel has done that, t just stopped working for me one day but I did find it the best for psoriatic arthritis. Have you tried Cosentyx? it's getting good reviews and may be worth a try.

Hello Deborah,

Nice to see you here over with us at PsoriasisClub.
I can't help you from own experience with e.g. biologicals, but I can tell you things about DMF (I am a member of the DMF-gang), which is probably and unfortunately not available in the US (at least it is, but not for psoriasis).
The suggestion to consult a dermatologist is a good one. Listen carefully what he/she has to tell you and you always can discuss that with us over here. Mostly there is someone with experience on what will be told to you.

Welcome Deborah!

Although Enbrel didn't work out for you there are a lot of other treatments available. Bios, oral meds, natural, etc. There is a lot of information here on just about everything so don't hesitate to ask if you can't find something or want more info on a particular treatment.

Welcome Deborah. Have you tried any natural remedies to mitigate the flare up that you are experiencing?

The last time I saw a respite was after taking a _long_ walk along Half Moon Bay on a sunny day, letting the sea water and sun work their magic. My legs were clear for a while, though I did get some sunburn that I wouldn't want to repeat.
