Looking for some advice, its been 3 weeks since first injection and now I'm full of cold, its happened all of a sudden and all the usual lemsip drugs etc that I would normally take arnt helping.

Could this be anything to do with stelara or is it more likely than I've been unlucky?

It could be the Stelara, I used to get a flu like feeling around week 2-3 but not now. The problem is it will weaken your immune system so if there is a cold about you could get it worse than normal.

Keep an eye on it and if getting worse instead of better after 3 days contact your derm just to be sure. But if it's more like fever, sweats, and chills. you should tell them now.

But don't worry I'm sure it will pass

Thanks Fred,

No fever, sweats or chills but its just dawned on me my friends kid had tonsilitis and I saw him at the weekend. Will make sure I call my derm is it becomes more than a cold.

Yep sounds like you've picked up a bug, I mentioned the fever, sweats, and chills as it's something you should watch for when starting.

Dump the Lemsip and make your own.
  • Double shot of Whisky or Brandy Hell why not both
  • Good squeeze of Lemon juice
  • 1 crushed paracetamol
  • 2 T Spoon Honey
  • Top up with hot water.

Works a treat. Smile

Yes if you share. By the way you can still consume alcohol with Stelara unlike Methotrexate. Wink

Well last week's cold became a chest infection :( so on antibiotics which would usually make the P flare and my arms have (not to extent they were four weeks ago though).

So far the lighter patches have faded but arms and legs still itch like hell and ears don't seem to have improved at all.

Dose number 2 this Saturday.......

Sorry to hear about the chest infection, but stick with it as it's still early doors.

I know Fred likes an update so here goes....

Just seen my derm after 2 injections, he is thrilled, pasi score at 4!

Small blip at the start with germs and anti biotics but now over that and happier than I have been in a long time.

Doeant want to see me for 4 months and expects results of stelara to improve over time - apparently lower legs always take longer to clear.

Big Grin

Great news Amy, yes my lower legs took the longest to clear.

Thanks for the update, I wish a few more would come back now and again as it helps others. Smile
