I have never been told that I have psoriatic arthritis, but lately I have some swelling around my thumb joint (top of thumb). It doesn't hurt really, but is hot. Is this one of the symptoms to psoriatic arthritis?

It's difficult to say! normally you would feel some pain, but in the early stages it could feel hot. Mine first started many years ago in my thumb and it felt like I had a hot splinter embedded in my bone way under the skin, and every time I bent or touched the side of my thumb it felt painful.

With me PA manifestated itself by pain in my feet with running and a few thick and painful fingers on the joints which resisted bending.

Indeed discussing with a doctor is the best thing you can do. Try preventing as much as possible. Do keep moving your thumb, it is important that the joint stays flexible.

Hi Margaret.

Mine originally manifested as a numbness and feeling of pressure in my thumb joint... The feeling you get when you squeeze your knuckle. My hands are never warm so I am not sure if them feeling hot would be a symptom as I have never experienced it.

It is one of those conditions in which the symptoms differ from person to person.

Hope the feeling eases soon and it's not PsA.

Weird..
I always had cold hands before, but since I use my medication, my hands are almost always warm...
