From one of the web sites I found:
"FLURANDRENOLIDE (flure an DREN oh lide) is a corticosteroid. It is used on the skin to reduce swelling, redness, itching, and allergic reactions."
The tape is about 2" wide. The user cuts a piece off the roll, removes the backing paper, and applies to the skin. The tape sticks in place. The manufacturer claims that the tape keeps the medication in contact with the skin, which increases efficacy. I found it effective, but I haven't used it for several years. I think of it as a reserve.
If you wish t try it, discuss with your physician. Among possible side effects:
- blurred vision, or seeing halos around lights;
- headache, back ache, weakness, confusion, mood changes;
- sleep problems (insomnia);
- weight gain, puffiness in your face;
- muscle weakness, feeling tired; or
- high blood sugar (increased thirst, increased urination, hunger, dry mouth, fruity breath odor, drowsiness, dry skin, blurred vision, weight loss).
