You are right, Caroline. Saying that a patient was diagnosed with pml at a specific lymphocyte count needs qualification to make it useful. All bar one of the cases where cell count graphs were available show prolonged periods below 0.5. The graphs also show large fluctuations in the count over short periods which gives good justification for more frequent counts at lower levels.
