My experience has been that larger doses taken less frequently are more effective and keep working. Caroline's research has found similar observations. The latest thing I am trying is selenium. I eat a couple of Brazil nuts a day and apply a little selenium sulphide cream (Selsun) very sparingly (it is extremely toxic) on spots. My reasoning for using it is that selenium slow cell proliferation as a topical, and is a component of proteins involved with glutathione production. I am trying this as I found the cysteine helpful, but as the cysteine did not help you, selenium may be another dead end.

Spookily Bill, the patches have died down again today, and i'm back to just very mild discolouration as i was before. The only difference in the last 2 days since the big flare up, is that i started the Cysteine again, only this time, 1.5g morning and 1 .5g evening.
Also, i took an extra 2 fumaderm tabs.
Flare ups i understand, as most of us do. But not this time. Every flare up i've had in the past, comes up within minutes, and takes months if not a year to get under control. This one, which i thought would be with me, again, for months, only lasted 2 days. Thats unusual for me.
Makes wonder if the moisturising ointment i put on once before going to bed, was the cause. Its called Hydromol, and was something given to me by my GP many months back. I never really used it before, because ointments seem to be useless on me, but thought i'd just give it a try. It may have been this stuff, or it may have been utter coincidence that I applied the Hyrdomol just as a flare up was plotting to attack me. I'll never know, since i wont be using it again, just in case
I'm interested in the Selenium though. I'll check that stuff out
