No, the DMF should be stable, but it will sublimate in air very slowly, so it is best kept in an airtight container. Ice should not harm it either, and I will make the cubes on the day I take them.

I'll watch this space as I've never been able to swallow or even suck ice cubes myself. It makes me shiver just thinking about it.
