I am Joanne. New to this site and posting , as well. Lived with psoriasis for 40 years now. Completely clear due to Stelara, but now facing major dental issues. Saw a few threads on subject. Is anyone else suffering from this ? Thank you.
Joanne to our group there are so many nice people here and so helpful.I probably had psoriasis when i was in my teens but didn't know it.I always thought I had dandruff and my nails were always so thin and would crack. Then when I was about 54 I had it behind my ears and along side my nose and bad in my scalp. When I finally found out it was due to my knee swelling and I could barely walk.I went to my Dermotologist and she said I had psoriasis and she suspected I had psoriatic arthritis.Well I went to a Rheumatologist and sure enough That's what I had,he had to drain my knee.I have been seeing him for 10 yrs now.I was on Remicade then had a reaction to it,got hives each time I took an infusion the last time the hives were around my throat and I had to go to the Hospital I couldn't breathe so they gave me a cocktail of Benadryl steroids and something else can't remember what but that was it for Remicade.I am now on Enbrel 50 mg sure click pen I give myself a shot every Sat.As far as my teeth I get them cleaned every 3 months so I won't have problems. It's costly but well worth keeping my teeth.I only have lost one and I have a bridge that's connected to my wisdom tooth. All other three wisdom are pulled for I didn't have room in my mouth for them.I see you are from New York I live in Pa 50 miles from Pittsburgh. We are about 6 hrs or so away from New York.Welcome again :clap
