My derma prescribed Sebco, which is a Coconut Oil Compound with a coal tar (about 12%). It's very greasy and makes you smell like a newly tarmacked road (sexy), but I've found it very effective. I often leave it on overnight when I can (with a shower cap, or as mentioned, clingfilm), and wash it out the next day with a concentrate shampoo like Ceanel.
I've also found using sulphate free shampoos helpful. The Palmer's Coconut Oil Shampoo is good.
Hi CraftyCrow and thanks for adding to the thread. I noticed you have been a member for a while now so thanks for your contribution. I will speak to my dermatologist next time I see him as if I get any scales coming back it is usually the scalp.
