Yes I have it, and have done for over 25 years now. You shouldn't let it scare or worry you, on average only 10-20% of people with psoriasis will go on to get Psoriatic Arthritis. And if you do it's not the end of the world, if it was I wouldn't be dancing on the table now would I.
Seriously Hanna, don't think about it until/if you do get it, you know being wound up about something is not good for psoriasis. And just because your father has it, does not mean you will get it. If you do end up with PsA, then that is the time to worry about it, although today you don't need to worry to much as there are lot's of things that can help, and more and more things are in the pipeline.
Mine was mild enough for years and I could cope with it by just taking the occasional pain killer. Yes it did get to the stage of being totally locked up and not being able to use a knife & fork, or dress myself. But today I'm fine with it thanks to modern day treatments. So forget about whether you will or won't get PsA and enjoy your life without it.
If (and that's a 10-20% if) you do end up with it you know there are others here who you can talk to who will support you.
Now where was I?.....................................................................Oh yes I remember now.
