Hello Karl welcome back, I'll be brief as Jim has said mostly what I would have said.
If you don't want to try any more sprays, steroids, or light therapy then your next step is the pills Methotrexate, Fumaderm, Acitretin, Ciclosporin, etc see the link Jim gave you above. (Failing that why not try more of your Mum's mix for your legs if it has helped)
Or you could try and natural, I'm not a believer myself and it's not something I could do but you can find more about it here: Natural Treatments For Psoriasis
As for your question "will a cure ever be available in the near future?" That's an easy one to answer, No! there will never be a cure so it's treatment that you will need.
