Hello Margaret to Psoriasis Club
It's difficult to say! normally you would feel some pain, but in the early stages it could feel hot. Mine first started many years ago in my thumb and it felt like I had a hot splinter embedded in my bone way under the skin, and every time I bent or touched the side of my thumb it felt painful.
Have a look at this post as it may help: Psoriatic Arthritis
However it's always best to get a professional diagnoses, as it could be something totally different.
Regards.
Fred.
