Well, i went and yeah it was an experience...
I arrived really early like 30 mins or so and was shown into a training room and the guy who was giving the induction was actually the regional manager I thought hey, better than a supervisor!
So we started making small talk and he was typing on his PC and when he answered he would look at me but once or twice he kept looking at my hands, I told him straight I have Psoriasis.. he sat there and said ok... shrugged a bit and just said ok and carried on typing on his computer so i waited a few mins and he got up and started to potter about and i asked him what sort of gear we would be issued and what exactly would we be doing, he informed me.. A high vis top, a pair of boots and a pair of gloves, and that i'd be a general dogsbody sweeping the place moving stuff around and generally doing what i was told I then said ok and asked him if the gloves would be new and that because of my psoriasis i would need new ones. He looked puzzled at me and said yeah they will be.
I'll skip some because you really wont want to know everything i did lol
So.. an hour before we was due to go home he said well, you have to do an hours work today so put your boots on grab your gloves and vest and follow me.. he took us to a small yard where in one corner was a big pile of rubbish.. you name it it was there.. It was muddy.. there was huge puddles of standing water gods know how long it had been there, prolly find wreckage of Noah's ark in there. Then he says grab those bins over there and pick up all the lose stuff and put it in the bins, we want to get this place tidied up a bit. One of the other guys there who started with me recognised straight away my Psoriasis and said in front of the manager, dude, you shouldn't be doing this should you with your psoriasis you can get sick from picking up all this crap? I'm like yeah i can and the manager told us to quit complaining and just get on with it. I had to use every ounce of self control to not wallop the muppet into next week. Then the manager tried to call me lazy just as a big gust of wind kicked up and there was loads of dust and everything and this same guy who mentioned my psoriasis asked for some face masks and was told no, just get on with it.
Sorry for the wall of text, but yeah.. Its been interesting....
