Okay Enrico,
At first, Welcome to psoriasisclub.
I did not have the opportunity to do that yet, because I have been very busy and not around.
On the differences between Fumaderm and Psorinovo.
The one similar point is, they both use the working substance DMF in equal quantities, which is the basic, bare stuff that Bill is using.
With Fumaderm this is contained in a so called combination preparate. It is combined with MonoEthylFumarate and a number of additives to protect the stomach, DMF can give you bad stomach cramps, and it has a protective layer around to get it through the stomach into your intestines. There it does it's amazing job.
Psorinovo is NOT a combination preparate, it only uses DMF, just like Bill does. But... it has a protective layer to get it through the stomach and then afterwards it is released gradually in your intestines. The advantage of this is that the side effects are normally much less than those of Fumaderm.
The disadvantage is that it only can be ordered from one place, one pharmacy, in the Netherlands. It will be shipped to any location if you order it.
In the Netherlands, the insurance pays for it, as DMF and the Z-index number of it is registered as a medication against psoriasis. Probably it is normally NOT payed for in other countries in Europe, unless you can convince your insurance (and doctor) that it is just a DMF-medication in a form that works for you.
There is much more to tell, but also already much told on the forum.
Any questions? Just Ask.
Caroline
