Hello Kiwi to Psoriasis Club
I'm not sure but it does sound a bit like a type of Pustular Psoriasis. I had this problem a couple of years ago with my head, and your description of itchy, hot, and painful rings a bell. I thought I was having a reaction to Stelara at the time but my dermatologist said it looked like Pustular, (She only saw the photo) and if it ever came back I should contact them immediately. But it's never appeared again, so I'm not 100% sure.
This thread has a bit about pustular which may help: Pustular Psoriasis
As for what triggers it, I would say stress, or being wound up about something is probably the biggest culprit. How to stop it? I would get yourself an appointment with a dermatologist for that.
I know we do have a couple of members who have mentioned pustular, and they may be better suited to answer. I will see if I can remember who they are, but please keep us informed.
Regards.
Fred.
