I know vitamin C is one of the more important vitamins. It's crucial for fighting disease and repairing the body. I've read the "recommended dietary allowance" is barely enough to prevent scurvy. There are many enemies of vitamin C: heat, cooking, oxygen, smoking, the pill, smog, chlorinated drinking water.
And in a way salt (perhaps the real cause of scurvy as per a book I read about a sailor spending six months in the artic, no vitamin C, no fruit and not getting scurvy). Sailing in the days before refrigeration, salt was used to keep food from spoiling. And salt is in everything nowadays.
So vitamin C is very important and we don't get nearly enough. I cannot speak about how effective topically it is, but if it's works for you. That's great!
Well at least the lotion smells nice and if it didn't help with my psoriasis (as I have no clue how well topical treatment with Vit C actually is) it at least is a nice lotion.
I've tried to increase my Vitamins (C being one of them) but I'd bet that I don't do enough. Good information though, thanks!
