Hi Fred , you must be one of the longest patients on Stelara ( I don't mean tallest ! ) .I have not heard of many who have been on as long as you, only 2 years myself and its only in the last year that it has helped my PA, how have you changed your dose as mine is 90mg every 12 weeks but I do know of several who on 8 weeks but they are only on 45mg. Never tried Enbrel .
I like Yorkshire Puddings, Yorkshire Beer, and have been known to like Yorkshire Tea many years ago does that count?
No I'm not very tall. I had to go onto Stelara after everything else failed and I was a wreck. It did take a while to get it working for psoriatic arthritis, but for psoriasis it was brilliant and gave me back my life. Maybe being clear of psoriasis helped with psoriatic arthritis, sort of placebo effect.
I was around 80-85Kg and gave up smoking, that put me up to 100Kg (and didn't help one bit with psoriaiss, but that's another story) once I got to 105Kg we tried 90mg every 3 months, but it made me feel to zombie like so we played around with the dose. I've been settled on 45mg every 8 weeks for a while now, though it's not following the recommended protocol of Stelara so some are not allowed to try it.
My thinking with my dermatologist was, if we could get around 70mg each 12 weeks it could work. But that is not possible, and although Stelara say go from 45mg to 90mg once over 100Kg that to us me (as I pushed my dermatologist) was rubbish because I was just over. Maybe 120Kg yes it could be suitable, but hovering around 100 is a big step to go double your dose.
I'm currently on 45mg every 8 weeks and weigh in at 95Kg.
