Cure actually has different meanings. In the medical field I guess it can mean "to make someone with an illness healthy again" and also "Cured of a disease and it won't come back" which is not the same thing as the first one. And Mr Webster simply puts it as "recovery or relief from a disease" which is basically the same as the two meshed together.
I've heard some people say they were "cured" and the disease returned. It's possible it was only in remission or perhaps it did just come back.
I never really thought that much about it until getting psoriasis. There were so many "cures" out there!!!! Of course they were scams and luckily I found myself here before falling for them.
To me a cure means it is gone... not coming back (of course it's impossible to predict that one in some cases)
