Not sure why you would get them, but I'm guessing you have Windows or Android. A lot of laptop and phone manufacturers install apps see "Bloatware" so I'm thinking you have a Twitter app installed that came with your device.
If you don't use it you can delete it. Whilst you're there you may find loads of others that you don't use.
Yes to both. Windows 10 on the computer and an Android phone. I don't have a twitter (X) phone app, just checked but I don't recall getting anything on my phone. There will be an article or something on the homepage on my computer, which is set to MSN, drives Mr. Kat crazy that will say "So and so is wrong" and it will (would) be from a twitter post. If I clicked on it then I would get "Need to log in to view"
Sorry I can't help, thanks to Caroline (even though I think she no longer uses it herself) I run Linux and don't have these problems. Have you tried Firefox and DuckDuckGo ? I'm thinking MSN is the culprit, but I could be wrong as I don't use them.
Read again it sounds like an MSN homepage problem to me and Twitter (X or whatever it is today) is probably paying them and of course they want you to log-in as The Musk Bloke wants us all to pay him for his crap.
Again sorry .............................. I'm free with Linux, Firefox, DuckDuckGo, uBlock Origin and don't get these problems, but you all have choice, it's up to you at the end of the day. Own or be owned.
