#1 What age did you think something was going wrong: 17
#2 How many years later was it that you got a diagnoses: 6 months
#3 When you got a diagnoses how did it make you feel: shattered as I was just beginning to enjoy girls and it held me back
#4 What was your first treatment:
Coal tar ointment
#5 Did you think it was a temporary thing:
No I was told brutally it was something I had for life and it was difficult to control and there weren't many treatments 55 years ago
#6 How long before you got to see a dermatologist:
One year
#7 What did you think of your first dermatologist:
Not a lot as it was coal tar or salicylic acid ointment
Neither of which were nice and did nothing but ruin my clothes or bed sheets
But got better when they gave me UV treatment a very basic aperatus where they had to adjust arking carbon rods to make them burn and give off UV rays it was very basic but workedÂ
#8 Have you ever given up on a prescribed treatment:
Regularly gave up on creams and ointments.
And couldn't wait to dump methotrexate
#9 How do you feel you are being treated today:
I feel I'm treated well and have a good rapport with my current dermatologist
#10 What would you say to the younger you at #1:
Back in the day nothing as I don't think there was enough treatments . So I can't think of anything that would have helped then
