As for recycling, I watched a documentary the other day about that, not all plastics marked recyclable get recycled lots of them still go to landfills.
Will have to dig more into it to find out what happens to those.
I have noticed on a box of wine it says the box and handle can go in recycle but the plastic bladder has to go in the general waste. So maybe it's just too difficult to recycle syringes. Let me know what you find.

Yes that was my thinking, anything marked yellow is a bio hazard and has to be incinerated.
