For those that have used coconut oil: How do you put it on? In a liquid state or in the solid state? 

Both, it will melt on body contact.

Some prefer to have it in liquid form and some prefer it solid, I prefer using it as a solid lump but in the summer it is liquid and I tend to end up with all over the place.

If you do want to use it as a liquid it's best to only melt the amount you need, I think it melts at around 25c so you don't need to boil it up.
