Martin - I agree you need to get help urgently, perhaps your GP will agree to see you or you can send them your photos? They should be able to get you seen at urgent care at the hospital.
I had an experience over a Christmas period where I could get seen, then when I did eventually see a derm they refused to look at my skin and sent me away with a tube of cream.
I then decided to go for a private consultation as it had gone on for weeks, and he was shocked - my skin was bright red and hot, I was shivering and burning up - he put me straight on steroid tablets which worked straight away, then saw me the next time at the nhs hospital where he also works.
I do hope you get it sorted fast.
Kat, the NHS has its issues, I’ve had and heard of some pretty poor experiences. But - I would still far rather have it than any insurance based private only system. Through paying for it in our taxes, we can have our babies, our dermatology and rheumatology, our biological drugs, our vaccinations, our necessary operations - all free at the point of access, no credit card or insurance checks when we go into hospital, no worries when we change jobs, no having to be careful which hospital we get taken to.
It has its problems but on balance it works, and I feel sad when our friends in the US decide it’s awful because of hearing of some less brilliant experiences because on the whole it does work.
