I'm not sure if phone consultations will become the norm in future, maybe for those of us that know what we are doing with our treatment. But I hope not the norm for those newly diagnosed as they need much more attention to try and get it right in the early days.
I think phone or video consultations will become normal for routine matters like mine and yours where it's just to really renew a prescription and ask if there are any problems ... I think and hope they will offer a video consultation and only see people that need to be seen ...that should reduce waiting times for urgent cases ( or am I being too optimisticĀ )
I wouldn't want to do video. One I have my camera covered up and wouldn't know how yo use it anyway, and two I aint getting my kit off in front of the internet.
I can't remember the last time a dermatologist looked at my skin so I won't be getting my kit off on video
But our hospital has a video service now and Mrs Jim is due a clinic meeting next week with the kidney specialist and I would rather do that than go into a hospital at the moment
I get it with Mrs Jim, but with my dermatologist she always wants to see how my skin is looking so it's down to my undies. She sometimes wants to look a little further at my groin and bum crack, and to be honest I think someone treating my skin should see as much of it as they want. She has asked before how my genital area is and I wouldn't have a problem showing her if I had a problem, but I'm not getting my equipment out on the internet.
