I find that wearing thin running tops and trousers really helps, sweat evaporates from those really quickly so there's less likely to be irritation.
Also tighter fitting tends to be better as the skin and clothes are closer together and the sweat doesn't pool as much as wearing baggier cotton tops.
I used to run x-country (half marathons) with really severe P and wearing clothing like this never caused me a problem.
