I tried to make sense of the figure, Caroline. It looks as if the placebo caused the biggest drop in lymphocytes. That seems wrong. The accompanying commentary suggested that what was being sought was a dosage that would suppress specific immune cells sufficiently without causing a neutropenia. The bar chart below the figure you posted looked more informative.
