It sounds like you are doing the right thing seeing a dermatologist and getting prescribed systemic drugs. Having a drug fail you is par for the course, but cheer up because there are many other treatments that can be prescribed for you. I have been on DMF (the stuff in Fumaderm, Skilarence and Psorinovo) for over five years with very good results. Topicals can work very well in conjunction with systemic treatment, especially if you can cover the areas after application (occlusion).
The system you are in can be annoying at times, but it will give you access to many modern and effective treatments.
