#1 Continue with Cosentyx every three weeks instead of four.
#2 Switch to Taltz.
#3 Try taking some Otezla with the Cosentyx.
I straight away said no to the Otezla, and didn't bother continuing that part of the conversation.
So we spoke about option #1 and #2. And in the end she said it was up to me. I said I would like to continue with Cosentyx as it is working great for the psoriatic arthritis and although Taltz is a similar treatment, I was a bit concerned that it may not be as good as Cosentyx for the psoriatic arthritis. I then went on to say the 3 weeks had helped with the psoriasis, and she said herself it was a lot better since she last saw me.
I said if I could continue on Cosentyx but have something to help with the odd flare up I would be happy (that was when she mentioned Otezla), so she said what about Silkis or Dovobet. I said the diprosone helped the best when I had the flare up last time.
After a bit of thinking I have decided to carry on with Cosentyx at three weeks between shots for the next six months and use Diprosone if I feel I need it.
I felt it was the best for me at the moment as it's only a little bit of psoriasis that is annoying at times, but the summer is coming which means more sun and a happier mental state. After 6 months we will review it again, and that leaves me still with Taltz on the back burner.
Psoriasis Score: Down from 6 to 5.
Psoriatic arthritis score: Still at 1 with the odd little twinge if it's damp, and I have noticed my fingers are a little stiff in the morning but it soon passes once I get moving.
I think Cosentyx is failing me slowly, but I thought get another 6 months out of it and try Taltz in the Autumn if needed was the way to go.
It sounds to me that you have made the correct decision Fred , hopefully the three weeks will be better. I am still sticking with the Stelara on the dermatologist advice but the P is getting worse in a few patches and the PsA is certainly not improving.
