Well we first met down the Pub and started becoming drinking buddies, after a while we found out we both had something in common (We had both just come out of a relationship and didn't want to start another one) so we carried on as just good friends, however after a couple of years it was becoming a bit more than that, and she didn't know about my psoriasis and I struggled to tell her, until one night she had come back to my place for coffee. I got a leaflet out that the doctor had given me (no internet then) gave it to her and said read this while I make coffee.
I came back with the coffee expecting her to be gone, and she said "So what it doesn't bother me" I plucked up the courage to show her and she started asking questions like does it hurt etc. The relationship got better and she started helping put my creams on ............................................. Oops better stop there this is a family forum.

By excepting that you have it and talking with others about it, educating your friends and family is a good start. Tell them you can't catch it from anyone and it's an autoimmune problem, point them to Psoriasis Club and let them read for themselves, Start Here:

But most of be yourself don't hold back on meeting new people, and if anyone makes nasty comments or don't want to know you forget about them because they are not the sort of people you want to be around anyway.
Oh and anyone in the world can get psoriasis, and it can hunt them down at anytime of their life. So watch out people without, you could be next.
