I was so nervous thought I was going to throw up or something.
Started the day drove to hospital and arrived a few minutes late, full of trepidation and fear! The nurses were brilliant went through everything. Took Mrs Pingu so she could stab me if she felt like. Discussed all the treatment the syringes etc and how it should be more effective. I was given some sharps bins and told how what why and when.
Then it was time to stab myself in the thigh! I was sat there shaking for like an hour while we went through everything and now was my moment! Performance anxiety!!!!!!!!!!
Have a dry run with demo syringe.
Wash hands - OK
Check packaging that massive stabby dangerous drug dealing tool of death comes, expiry date, dosage etc - OK
Take massive stabby dangerous drug dealing tool of death out of box!!! - OK
Check dosage on massive stabby dangerous drug dealing tool of death - OK
Check date on massive stabby dangerous drug dealing tool of death - OK

Feel throat getting drier and shaking getting worse. Nurses ask if I am OK. Mrs Pingu saying something off in the distance scarcely audible.
Prepare to inject myself in the thigh - OK
Drop pants and sit down (2 nurses, consultant come for a look and Mrs Pingu all looking on) - OK
Rub alcohol wipe over target area - OK
Pull safety top off massive stabby dangerous drug dealing tool of death - OK
Look at spear sized needle in massive stabby dangerous drug dealing tool of death, looks like it would kill a pig easily - OK
Apply massive stabby dangerous drug dealing tool of death to leg and hold down - OK
Deep breath!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Press plunger - OK

Where's the pain, the stab, the scratch or prick.
Nothing at all walk in the park.
Remove syringe, swab area, put syringe in sharps box, wash hands leave!
Left with massive bag of 12 syringes, 2 sharps bins, travel sharps bin, travel card and certificate.
