Just re read - I will do my best but my vets tease me dreadfully as I just cannot bare to watch when my cats even get their yearly jabs- I will hold them for the vet but have to look away - however if 'needs must' then I may have to re think.

I'm not sure which one they will suggest he tries. But ask them about Stelara as it's a very successful treatment and three months between injections. But don't worry they won't leave you to it until they are happy.

Yes Krug, . You might need a recalibration of your feelings towards injections under the skin. Me too I think they are very scary, but if even Fred can cope with it, it must be doable.

The injections are no problem at all with Stelara even the needle is spring loaded and withdraws in a million second and it's only a small tip. I have been injecting now for over three years on Stelara but before that I used MTX for over nine years with the last three years plus injecting every week.
Don't worry about it at all and the Stelara has changed my life with just about complete clearance.

As for injections believe me when needs must, it's surprising what you are capable of....myself I was so squeamish most of my life and passed out as a teenager having blood tests and always sat down and looked away when ever a needle was pointed at me .....

Since my wife has been on dialysis and now doing home dialysis. I had to just get on with putting needles in for her ...so if I can do it anyone can

I'm sure you will overcome your fear and do it for Eric to save yourself travelling to the hospital to have them done

Lupis is a concern for the TNF biologics. Stelara may be the best option, but I am not sure how their trial went for it.

Well it would appear that the Fumaderm did not cause the kidney problems with regard to my 77 year old husband . Test on 12th showed 50% kidney function and we were asked to arrange another test within a week. I organised it for Tuesday. Husband very poorly. Lovely nurse expedited and we got a call from the GP at 3.30 yesterday saying his kidney function was now 9% which I think is end stage Renal disease/Renal failure. He is now in a Nephrology Unit having been sent to A and E yesterday. I honestly do not know what caused that sudden drop. It has also caused him a huge amount of distress being taken off the Fumaderm because he has had a huge flare up with peeling skin and a lot of pain plus loss of feeling in his hands. We have the Dermo appointment on Tuesday but not sure quite how viable an option Bio's are given the kidney function. I have to post this because I may have given the wrong impression with regard to Fumaderm causing kidney problems.

Hi Krug such bad news for you today, with Eric getting such devastating news, my wife has Kiney failure and has been on home haemodialys for 3 years and it gives her a life, not perfect but at least liveable with quality
I'm guessing he is having dialysis to remove toxins as we speak and gphe will be tired but feel a lot better having had it

I wonder what finally finished his kidneys off as you say it wasn't the Fumaderm, but I didn't suspect it was to be honest

I'm sure the dermatologist will have options still left open to you as the kidneys aren't functioning
I wish him better luck, and you the strength to look after him
