I have just been prescribed Aciteritin 10mg daily + 3 x weekly UVB light treatment ( which i have been getting for 3 weeks ) took my first capsule this morning (09.00) and am currently sitting in a darkened room coz my eyes are sore with the light. was prescribed the Aciteritin after six months on PUVA / 20mg Methoxypssoralen ( complete fail ) Hoping for better results this time, 3 weeks of UVB treatment has already made improvements.

Yes also good luck from me I sincerely hope it works for you it seems to be giving relief to others so I hope the success continues with you

I'm on 25 mg daily along with UVB. I was about to give up hope of it working but it just took a bit longer than expected and other than scalp I'm pretty clear now (around 10 weeks being on acitretin). Hope it works for you and hope your sensitivity to light clears up!

Oh dear I hope the nausea passes, as its still early for good results judging from what others have said on here. Kat and Kelly have both reported it working although slowly they are both over 10 weeks in and showing good results
I don't know what can be done about the sore eyes except mention it to your doctor who may have a solution for you....
You could try Optrex eye bath or just a cool damp flannel may give a bit of relief

Some eye drops might help with the eyes if they're sore from being dry. I didn't really have any problems with the side effects. A dry mouth and probably a bit of hair thinning (hard to say if that's from the med or the psoriasis but since my hair has been getting a bit thinner due to aging it could just be normal for me as well.)

Hope you start feeling better and the side effects ease up on you!

Day 4 Quite bright here today and eyes are sore + itchy, skin appears to becoming very dry and flaky ( more so than usual) very windy ( not sure if that's the Aciteritin) seems the nausea tends to be in the evening. I'm hoping that the six months + of PUVA hasn't desensitized my skin and will still get the benefit of the UVB treatment. the nausea is uncomfortable but not overly so and does not appear to effect my sleeping but the sore and itchy eyes are a bit of a torment, have just purchased some optrex and am going to try it to see if i can get some relief. Don't think I would notice any hair loss unless it was body hair.

Day 6 - Nausea seems to be tailing off a bit (good), Optrix giving instant relief but does not last for very long 1/2 hour - very bright day here today I found that quite painful, put my shades on while driving ( wished I had thought about that the other day) helped relieve the pain (discomfort) - skin continuing to improve more through UVB treatment than the Aciteritin yet continues to be more dry and flaky than normal ( no splitting and bleeding ) Blood tests next week Hope the nurse has sharpened the needle ( thought she was trying to stick me with a 6'' nail the last time ).

Hi again .... At least the nausea is getting less. And skin improving .... Whether it's the acetretin or the UVB doesn't matter just get it down Then the acetretin should keep it under control... Whereas the UVB is just a quick fix. The acetretin should work long term
Glad the Optrex gave a bit of relief.... any thing is better than constant suffering
If you Google Optrex eye pads it will show a range of different cooling eye pads ( couldn't find the Optrex ones I used to use but several different ones popped up

Shame about the sensitivity to light do you think it's related in some way, cant say I've heard of it myself ( but I'm no dermatologist)
Glad your skin isnt splitting and bleeding anymore that's very positive

Good luck with the blood test next week lets hope the nurse find a nice shiny nail for this test

never had the sensitivity until I started with the Acitritin so asume it is that, ( like staring at a bright light in the dark) It is great to be free of the splitting and bleeding although it was not something that was constant but had been suffering it for about 3 months even while under PUVA treatment even with constant moisturising. so I am happy!! have had many UVB courses over the years and the results as you say are a quick fix the fix lasting for shorter periods each time so am looking for Aciteritin to give me that long lasting fix ( I am giving regular updates so anyone in future can tell how the treatment goes and allow an idea of what it can do / or not do ).
