Hi Bill
I am a cancer survivor and do no yet want to go the systemic roote. If after 12 weeks of strict dietary adjustments I d not see improvement I will reconsider. Giving up sugar and gluten and dairy can't hurt.

About 3 years ago I would get one scale somewhere on my body every few months, maybe. Then cancer, divorce, moving (all at the same time) and the subsequent financial trouble and loneliness the last year threw me into a depression and I started drinking. I went from a glass of wine a few times a week to a few glasses every night of the week. Three months ago I didn't have a single plaque and today I'm covered. I do think I completely abused and overloaded my immune system and had no other choice but to stop everything cold turkey. Topicals were a joke for me.

I think the rash is indicative of how much toxins my body is trying to get rid of. Two video that resonated with me are: sugar the bittersweet truth and another by a 27 year old who cleared his psoriasis by eliminating sugar- Nicholas Lamborghini - both videos are on you tube

If this fails I will go the systemic route but I've gotta at least give it a try first

Blessings.

Hi again and first let me say as a fellow cancer survivor congratulations...... Thumb

You have certainly been through a lot of unpleasant times I can understand turning to drink it's sometimes a temporary relief from the problems..
I admire your resolve to address all the issues and try to clear yourself the natural way I have seen some videos on YouTube and wonder if it's a short term remission and would love to read a blog of someone who has stayed clear for a few years, who isn't trying to sell something.

I can tell you that I abuse my body by giving it all the wrong stuff including alcohol, sugars, nightshades by the shed load I love tomatoes and potatoes.
I wish I had strong will power but I know I would fail on a detox diet

I hope as you get your life back together the flare up will calm down and I'm sure your coming here and talking about it will be a good thing for the disease

I say stick with it as you say it can't do any harm and should at least make you healthier in general...... Leave the biologicals until you are ready which hopefully you won't need.

Come back often and keep us updated and keep chatting. Your positive outlook can only help as well
Jim

Hi kh924,

One story I can give you is of a colleague's Mum who was on Methotrexate for psoriasis, but got sick of taking it. So she went on what sounded like a diet of fresh foods perhaps not too dissimilar for your own, other than an absence of supplements. Apparently it has worked very well for her, although she doesn't always follow it strictly and gets an occasional flare.

But all the best to you. God knows, I would ditch my medication in an instant for something better, but it is the devil I know.

Cheers,

Bill

I do want to note that I haven't purchased anything that someone was trying to sell me. I had a very poor diet most of my adult life. Obese yet eating only one meal a day - usually fast food. Then I was prescribed diet pills and lost 70 lbs. and was eating almost nothing.

I appreciate that some may disagree with the dietary changes I have currently made but for me, I am eating more healthy than ever before. 3 healthy meals and two snacks every day vs fast food caffeine and alcohol every day. The only thing I have purchased has been vitamins, antifungal supplements. Probiotic and organic food. I have energy and no sugar highs and lows. Caffeine / sugar withdrawal headache subsided after two days.

Here is what I consume on a typical day
Water with lemon when I get up
Breakfast: Prebiotic shake: almond milk, blueberries, plant based protein powder, spinach, coconut oil, almond butter, apple cider vinegar, banana - it's sweet and filling.
Probiotic and supplements
AM snack: hard boiled egg white, handful of almonds and blackberries
Lunch: large salad of arugula, mixed greens, olives, egg whites, tuna fish, scallops or chicken, olive oil and vinegar supplements
PM snack: see AM snack
Dinner: fish, chicken or grass fed beef with either salad or roasted vegetables. Supplements.

I also drink half my body weight in water daily. I have never eaten this healthy before and to those who say I'm eliminating foods my body needs I would disagree.

Omitted from this diet (for 12 weeks only) are dairy, soy, sugar, caffeine, gluten, night shade veg (tomatoes, white potatoes).

I've lost 9 lbs in a week although I'm not in this for weight loss. Research does say your skin may flare before it gets better in part from stopping Topicals and in part from toxins released ( your skin is the body's largest organ)

Keep you posted. Looking forward to week two on this journey.

Neglected to mention that all fruit except for blackberry and raspberry and nana in AM shake are omitted for first 12 weeks as they are very high on the glycemic index

I don't miss the alcohol or the caffeine. I don't miss anything actually. I have no cravings either. Not to say that I won't - but I'm focused and determined to give this my best to see if it helps. It certainly can't hurt. I am not cool with having to take drugs for the rest of my life if I don't have to. Your gut is your second brain. Immune system is directly affected by your gut. Fascinating reading for anyone who is interested in researching it online.

Hi again just been and watched Nick Lamborghini's vids. Well he is certainly clear there's no denying that, and as you say he's not selling anything.
I look forward to reading your story a big Thumb from me

@jiml - he is certainly no M.D. But you have to give him credit at his age for not settling for an RX and for trying something different. He lives only a few miles from me. I came across his videos after extensive research on leaky gut and the kid seems to be proof positive that there is something to be gained from eliminating sugar. He definitely inspired me.

Btw welcome to the board. Have fun over here, there is much information and other, .

I must apologize that I cannot answer quite well to your questions right now, at least seen from my point. That is because a I am a not native English speaker, and your questions uses a combination of words and meanings that I cannot understand without further explanation.
