Huh I am starting fumaderm in the new year after trying all the creams, light treatment, methodrexine, cyclosporin, etc and having no luck! I found the side effects of the oral medication horrendous, and am hoping for better luck with this treatment!

Has anybody any helpful tips for a newbie? Wave

Hello Lian and Welcome

Isabelle started a thread here: Fumaderm that may interest you. I haven't seen her around for while, but there are others on that thread too. So it could be worth you posting there.

Regards.

Fred.

Hello Lian,

From my point of view, I would say take care.
Be sure to be under control of your doctor and have your blood values regularly checked.

See also the thread Fred mentions.

Cheers,
Caroline

There is a good chance that it will work. I am on a different form of dimethylfumarate and with me it works, even on the other forum where I am there are lots of success stories with dimethylfumarate.

I have previously addressed my use of Fumaderm with Isabelle and would like to share same with you. I have been a severe sufferer for +35 years, have done all except injection therapies. Topical's were never part of my therapy over the years because they were not effective. I had enrolled for clinical studies but was refused because my psoriasis was too severe for their consideration.
I did some research on Fumaderm, shared this with local Doctor and went through the step up program, then after a clearing of psoriasis, stepped down to a maintenance of one 120 mg tablet per day. I do not have any visible signs of psoriasis today, some telltale skin discoloration on the previously affected sites, no side effects, only excellent results. Yes, there was some heart burn, upset stomach, flushing, but tolerable in comparison to itching, flaking, soreness of psoriasis.
For me it has been an absolute miracle. Does everybody achieve the same success? Probably not, but it has worked for me, thus why I think it is worth the try, the endurance, and the reason why I want to share my experience with others. Good luck with your therapy.

William,
Over here, netherlands, we know that about 80-90% of the psoriasis sufferers have good results with dimethylfumarates.
Great that you are clean with only 120 mg a day !

Cheers

stomach cramps?
Maybe your can use some yoghurt when you take the medication. That transfers it better through you stomach.
Don't worry yet, results can take time, 4 weeks is nothing.
