Interesting reading about taltz. I also found humira good for the arthritis but sadly it didn't work on my skin.

Are 'chiggers' mites by any chance? They sound horrible. We seem to have a problem with ticks, every time I try and go for a walk in the woods or grassy places in this hot weather I get a tick, then I freak out trying to get it off and worry about lymes..

"Chiggers" ARE probably "Mites" .  .  . of some kind.
I think a "Mite" is a more scientifically accepted generalized term world wide than "Chigger" which I believe may be a more localized North American term.

Reading the available research about LYME disease, shows that it IS spreading world wide.
The question of whether the spread of LYME is due to more ticks is not yet fully researched.
The spread of LYME is occurring via other vectors such as mosquitoes in some regions also.
Until recently, researchers hadn't observed person to person transmission of LYME. Now they think they've observed a few cases.

In my home area, North Texas USA, there are more Ticks this year. Entomologists tell us that's because of a mild winter.
There are 18 Genera and 900 species of Ticks already classified. Not EVERY tick carries LYME disease. Some ticks carry other disease such as Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever.
Often when a patient suspected with LYMES is hospitalized, it's discovered through testing that co-infections are causing some of those symptoms and additional symptoms.
Lyme disease is caused by the bacterial spirochete Borrelia Burgdorferi. An often encountered co-infection is Babesia Microti which causes it's own set of physiological damage.
As more money is devoted to solving the LYME question, hopefully an easy solution will be devised.

I don't like LYMES and I don't like Ticks. I'm itching all over just thinking about it .  .  . or maybe it's my psoriasis.

True. It is that bacteria that is causing Lyme symptoms. But.. maybe there's is a solution somewhere available.

Hi Phil
Good that the Taltz is working for you, I hope you continue clearing on the monthly injections Thumb

I don't like Lyme we often go walking in the forests and always check for ticks when we leave as there are lots in the forests around here, I'm not sure if they are carried by the deer that are spreading rapidly even into our urban areas....
My granddaughter got a tick ( chigger) bite and it went bad we thought she had got Lyme but they pumped her full of antibiotics and hopefully it never developed ..

Today is October 7, 2017
I had a Dr. appointment with my dermatologist yesterday.
It was to follow up on my Psoriasis treatment with Taltz.
He says My skin looks very good and as far as he is concerned I am currently completely cleared.
I still have skin lesions but he describes them as a form of Psoriatic keratosis.
My overall skin condition is good not perfect. I would guess I am 85% clear
I still itch, My overall skin condition has improved. I don't bruise as easily and don't require as much cream
to remain moist and supple.

My arthritis however has gotten worse. Without any arthritis medication my wrists, arms, shoulders, and back are very stiff.
The Taltz effect on my arthritis has diminished noticeably.
I need a minimum of Methylprednisolone (4mg) and Diclofenac (25mg) once a week to remain active without much pain.
I can live this way and be productive.

Phil

Hello Phil thank you for the update.

I find it very interesting that Taltz is not helping so well with the arthritis side of things as it was something I was thinking of trying. The Cosentyx has completely gor rid of the psoriatic arthritis for me, but the psoriasis is still struggling and I was wondering if Taltz could be worth a try. But reading you update has made me think I will hold off making the change.

Like you say though "You can live that way" and that is the important part of any treatment. We all need to find what suits us and grab that freedom.

Good luck.

A mixed message Phil  that the Taltz is kind of working on the psoriasis ...but not much on the Arthritis ....but its a case of no cure we all know, it's just what level of relief we can accept

I wish you luck and hope it gets even better for you

It would be helpful Phil if you could edit your treatment in your profile to show Taltz, as I am easily confused  Smile you can do that by clicking the link and editing your profile     Edit

Hi I was wondering if you were still on Taltz? I’ve been on it most of 2018, and now I’m doing it monthly I’m finding the psa symptoms coming back about halfway through the month.
