Hello forum members

I'm looking forward to learning a lot here, and hopefully helping others when I can.
I have a relatively light case of plaque psoriasis; it began on my scalp about 18 years ago and moved on to elbows and knees.  It has recently become more visible (backs of hands) and more widespread.  I feel fortunate in that pain and itching are rarely a problem for me.

Odd in a way, but wouldn't it be great if we could someday celebrate the end of this forum?  That would of course come from a Psoriasis cure and the condition becoming a distant memory!   Smile

Best of health to all of you!

Hi Greycloud  Welcome to the club, there is plenty to learn here, from what members are using in natural treatments and prescribed treatments .....we are all happy to share experiences with each other on this platform that Fred has so kindly funded.....it's a site run by sufferers for sufferers, with no outside interference or advertising or requests for donations
You will find it difficult to find another resource with so much information in one place.

I see you are using corticosteroids to control the disease, although from your post they are starting to be less effective..........Read through the boards here and ask as many questions as you have, you will find the members are friendly and always willing to listen,or offer advice

Yes it would be great in an ideal world if this forum became redundant, but I doubt it will be in my lifetime, as there are billions of dollars being made by pharmaceutical companies, and they would hate to see a cure....they want to be able to sell us things to control it.

I look forward to chatting more with you soon but my bed is calling me

Jim

By the way a great way to stay in touch with the latest news here is to subscribe to our free monthly newsletter

Hello greycloud  Welcome to Psoriasis Club.

I'm sure you can learn a lot here as we have a lot of members trying different things and there is a huge amount of support, so your input will be welcome too.

I understand what you mean about "Celebrating the end of Psoriasis Club" But like Jim, I can't see it happening. (And if it did who would buy me drinks in the Bar?)  Big Grin

Regards.

Fred.

Hi greycloud Big Grin

I think they might find the cure one day, they have made such advances in understanding why is going on, they have developed stem cell treatment for ms etc so yes, I'm hopeful they will someday know what has broken and how to fix it. Not sure it'll be in my lifetime but when I think how they treated psoriasis in people my parents age there have been big advances in understanding the disease I think it might only be another generation or two.

I don't think Fred will need to shut the forum down though, we're having too much fun! Tongue
