Welcome Quish! It sounds like your husband has a lot going on. This is a great forum for asking questions and for information as there are so many here on different treatments. I am not on Fumaderm, nor have I done the injections, but both have worked well for many members here. I hope your husband starts to feel better soon.

Thank you for being so supportive - really appreciate it. I think Eric is more than happy to use my name and email - forgive me but he is really struggling right now to use the computer but I will do my best.....in fairness consultant said ERic was 'special' having both but GP said he thought drugs for Lupus may have triggered psoriasis....I am doing the best I can...

Quash it sounds to me as if you are doing great, come here as often as you or Eric like, there's always a welcome here.
There are times in life when being 'special, can be a pain . I look forward to chatting with him if he feels up to it sometime Thumb

Here is a link to an article about the use of dimethylfumarates (DMF) with Lupus.
NO LINKS ALLOWED

It seems even that DMF is beneficial against Lupus.

Deepak Balak is a promovendus and Dr Bing Thio is the most well known dermatologist who works with DMF. Unfortunately he mostly works with the combined preparate, as we call Fumaderm over here, instead of the better working single preparate.
I have had a small movie on YouTube which shows an interview with Bing Thio, but cannot find it anymore. Was in Dutch anyway.

Thanks Caroline - very interesting article. Will print it out and suggest Eric reads it.  Hopefully things will get easier once his body adjusts to the new pills.

Hi, I don't have much experience with those drugs I'm afraid, but it's nice to meet you and all the best for your husband.
Just out of interest, have they ever given him a course of prednisolone for lupus/psoriasis? I was given it when my psoriasis got very bad, and it helped my skin enormously.

No he has not been on that - I think it is a steroid? Originally he was on hydroxychloroquine (hope spelt it right!) but the GP seemed to think this could have contributed or even caused the psoriasis so they had to take him off it. But we think the Lupus is now dormant so the real problem is the psoriasis. Light therapy was considered but of course, that could re activate the Lupus. Various creams have been tried including steroids. We do seem to be going round in circles, so I am really hoping he can get some relief with the fumaderm although Dermo did say it could take a few weeks to kick in especially with building up the dose.

That is correct Quish, the building up is the most difficult with Fumaderm. If you get through that and it works, than it may be a relative ideal drug.
