Glad to see you worked it out, Thumb you certainly have a fair covering.
I hope the phototherapy starts working soon and we can see some improvement
Well at least here you are among fellow sufferers although I am not suffering I well remember feeling devastated when I could not shift it with anything I was given, but phototherapy was always good for me, and the bonus of a free tan.

Karl I just noticed your caption Ugly it is not its psoriasis, try not to look on it as ugly it's just a condition, which you will get the better of..... One thing that will help is a positive attitude

No not ugly, you should never say that. We are what we are and we look how we look, if no one likes it then they can go away and live in their perfect little world that will one day fall around them.

My opinion looking at those images would be that phototherapy will help (make sure it's professionally prescribed and monitored) It's not that bad and doesn't look aggressive. Slap on plenty of moisturiser, I'm a huge fan of Coconut Oil and twice a day on that will help a lot.

Thank you both for you inputs.

Fred, I use cocounut oil for my scalp psoriasis, hasn't helped much but it partially clears my scalp, just enough to go unnoticed. Im using this oil called 'Parachute Oil'. The phototherapy is professionally monitered by the nurse at the dermotology clinic. My session yesterday was for 34 seconds. i guess they are gradually increasing the time by a few seconds every session

Thanks Jim, I hope it works out for me too.

I will post an 'after' pic after my 10th session, which is two weeks from now.

Good luck all Smile

Have you tried wrapping your head in clingfilm after applying the coconut oil and leaving it a few hours, or preferably overnight.

A 50/50 mix of Olive Oil & Peanut Oil may help too.

Good luck.

Hi All

Sorry for the late update.

The doc decided to discontinue my light treatment after 7 or so sessions since he thought I might have 'Lichen Planus'. After another skin biopsy it was confirmed that it's psoriasis. During those three weeks while they were generating the report, I maintained a very strict diet...gluten free, dairy free and sugar free along with my homeopathy pills/juices in addition to vitamin D3 drops(around 6000IU a day) and Vitamin C supplements and moisturizing my body and scalp with coconut oil ('parachute' is the brand, though it says its a cooking oil, my mum said its ok to apply), I can say that my upper body and scalp is 95% clear. Though I did occasionally have sugary desserts and cheese(dairy product) since its VERY difficult to cut all this from my diet. Where I come from, gluten is staple. All I had was rice (lots of it), chicken, beans, spinach and other veggies(lots of mushrooms)

But the marks on my legs (Below my knees) are very stubborn. I still have some red swollen patches there. I used Dovobet gel twice last week that the doc prescribed, I did see some difference, the plaques thinned. But I read online that this gel is not good for long term usage so I'm going to try and avoid using that. Right now Im trying out 'English lavender brilliantine' Yardley cream (Has anyone heard of it?), and coconut oil. I read somewhere that Lavender is good against psoriasis. Is that true?

My legs have darkened significantly though, is that normal? because the rest of my upper body that cleared up did not turn dark at all.

From your experience, does it take longer to clear psoriasis on the legs?

Thanks guys. Will upload pics sometime this week.

Hi Karl welcome back and thanks for the update, shame the phototherapy was not for you, very pleased your alternative homeopathy and diet are doing it for you..
It's even working when you don't stick rigidly to the diet
Long may it work for you
Are you using the dovobet gel on any parts or just the legs?
I would ask for dovobet ointment for my legs rather than the gel although they will both work the same. Although you should be safe using it a bit more than just twice, I still keep some by me in case of a flare any time ...... i did not turn dark whilst my legs were clearing I don't know why that has happened

I can't help with the other queries, but someone will
Thanks again for the update look forward to seeing the pictures
Jim
