So, after over 2.5 years on Fumaderm, I've unfortunately made the choice to move on to methotrexate as fumaderm was failing. I'm really disappointed that it stopped working, as it was amazing when it worked. I have just picked up my first prescription from the pharmacy for methotrexate, starting on 2.5 mgs..Read More Here Autumn asks has anyone experienced Cellulitis with their Psoriasis ? After I was told I had psoriasis I was given all different types creams on a try this one systems. I was then given methrotrexate . I was on it for nearly 2 years when my doctor at the hospital told me to stop taking methrotrexate and I had to go for a liver biopsy which was very painful, I was told that the methrotrexate had scared my liver. I was then put onto Acitretin 2x 10 mg caps for about 2 to 3 years then it was increased to25mg caps but that made me ill so it was put back to 2x10 mg caps which I am still on.I still have my palms and the soles of my feet pealing but rest of my body is almost clear. Turnedlight has started a poll.... Does anyone believe biological drugs have caused them to gain weight?
Cos I do.. it would be interesting to hear whether others feel the same. I've enjoyed lovely clear skin all this year but have got bigger - of course it could be unrelated but my weight generally stays about the same normally.

......... Read More Here Can Fire Ants help Psoriasis
There has recently been a lot of talk about Fire Ants being used to fight psoriasis.
Emory and Case Western scientists have said Solenopsins are the main toxic components of fire ant venom. They chemically resemble ceramides, which are lipid-like molecules which have reduced skin thickening and inflammation in a mouse model of psoriasis.
The scientists devised two solenopsin analogs that look like ceramides, but can't be degraded into S1P. They then tested them in a mouse model of psoriasis, applying the compounds in a one percent skin cream for 28 days. ......

Another milestone for the club
We will be deleting 22 unused accounts at the end of the month, and that will leave us with 1000 active members
As you may know we delete accounts with zero posts that have not logged in for 12 months. Our newest member is number 2337 so you can see 1337 have been deleted since the club was formed, most of those are members who have joined, not posted or logged in within a year of joining, so they are deleted giving a clearer honest view of the membership of the club.
The rest of the deleted ones are either scammers or spammers most of whom can not get the spam onto the main boards before it's picked up and booted off

Dave Fosters view of the UK NHS
This article was submitted by D.Foster, and are his personal view and doesn't reflect the views of the club
Evidence has been piling up recently to suggest that something is seriously, and systemically, amiss in our hospitals. Recently, the scathing report on the Stafford Hospital Scandal — after abuse and neglect led to the unnecessary deaths of hundreds of patients — said ‘fundamental change’ was needed in the NHS. It condemned ‘failings at every level’ and contained 290 recommendations for reform. However, Robert Francis QC’s report was a damning indictment of the health service.
In November 2012, the Care Quality Commission found that ten per cent of hospitals and 15 per cent of care homes weren’t treating their patients with respect. Health Secretary, Jeremy Hunt, warned that cruelty and neglect had become normal in some hospitals and care homes.
There have also been concerns over foreign staff’s ability to communicate with patients. Growing numbers of the NHS’s medical and nursing staff come from overseas, and some have such a poor grasp of English that they cannot understand what patients are telling them.
It seems like a long time now since the NHS was viewed as a national treasure though national may be the wrong description as many hospitals will not even talk to each other.
How have we reached this situation where our hospitals, which ought to be places of refuge and care, seem frightening and potentially dangerous? What’s happened to nurses who were once the embodiment of compassion? How could people employed to care, leave elderly patients confused, frightened and hungry?.......................

Should you get stuck ask a member of the forum team who are always pleased to offer assistance

This is the last album by Gregg Allman released less than three months after his death.
Gregg only wrote one song on the album "My Only True Friend" and when you listen to it you will drift back to the days of the Allman Brothers. The other songs on the album are covers he chose to sing as his parting tribute to other song writers and to paint a little picture of his life.
The album has a mostly Country/Blues sound to it with a classic Allman Brothers feel. It's an album where you need to sit back and relax with your headphones on whilst it winds it's way around you.
