Hi,

I was wondering, I might have asked it before, but when I started with Hyrimoz, I had my toe that swelled up. I used some eticoxorib pills as well keep the swelling down not every day. But I was in the understanding that when starting a Biological that taking the other pills wasn't necessary, hence why take a biological? It should keep the inflammation down right?

Im experiencing similar effects while I am on Cosentyx. I stopped  three days ago with the celecoxib 100 mg, cause it made me feel like shit and drowsy, and also super tired.

But now my the tip of my finger on the left hand starts to hurt and swell a bit, never had it in my fingers so that's a first. So probably tomorrow Ill take the celecoxib again and will phone the hospital.

BUT my main question is: How can it be that while on bios my finger or toes swell up? I was in the understanding that that shouldn't be possible right, why take the bios then> I know a lot of questions but maybe you have some answers.

Il talk to the rheumy etc soon as well but wanted to ask you  Big Grin as experienced experts as well   Rolleyes

Oke byE

You have just started Cosentyx, right,
I think that maybe Fred may have some experience in this matter.

I can imagine that it needs some time to completely start working. Did the rheum say something about that?
Cosentyx is mainly an IL-17 suppressor as far as I know, but dont know how fast it will start working.

Yes it will take time, most bio's usually go 12 weeks before it's considered worth continuing or not.

Yes you are correct a bio should do the job it's designed for as in control the psoriasis and/or psoriatic arthritis, but some work better than others for different people. Also some people start really well on one and then it just gives up working, if you are not getting good results at week 12 I would consider trying another one.
