I'm aware of the intermittent downtime some may be experiencing and have been in contact with out host.

All of their servers (ours included) are up and running as they should, bet even their own is having the same problem and it seems to be coming from a network problem with the facilities in Denver & Phoenix USA.

At the moment there isn't much they can do from their end and they are pushing to get it resolved as soon as possible, I have full faith in them and we will just have to leave them to it.
If I can't post here I will post on our Bluesky account which you can view without having an account. Got to "bsky dot app" and search for "psoriasisclub dot org"

Sometime in May 2010 I started Psoriasis Club, and last year I gave all our members the chance to have a say on it's future. After listening to the feedback I decided it's here to stay thanks to the support from some of those members that took the time to help me decide.

We have come a long way in those 15 years and though some have come and gone and a lot have been deleted we still have a great friendly community, if I left the numbers it would show we have 3238 members but I've always said it's not numbers that counts it's quality. We have over 260,000 posts and over 7000 threads that have been made over those 15 years, and it's not just about psoriasis it's about support in other things too in the members only boards along with some fun and discussions.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you that help keep Psoriasis Club active, even a log-in now and then helps so if you haven't logged-in for a while pop in and enjoy our 15th birthday.

If you often log-in thank you very much for your continued support.

Regards.

I'm never a 100% sure of the day so I'll post this now and we can have a week to celebrate. It was May 2010 when I first opened the doors of Psoriasis Club to the public, It was first on a free hosted forum and then one day in August 2011 I decided to invest in my own hosting, it meant we lost some posts as the free host wouldn't give me the database, but I was sure it was the way to go.

Fourteen years later we are still here and we have well over 250,000 posts and although I delete accounts that reach one year old with no posts, we still have almost 1000 active members. So I want to take this opportunity to thank you all for your continued support, I couldn't and wouldn't have got this far without you.

As for the future, we will make 15 years as I made a promise to keep it going till August 2025 but that is another story and our members can read more about that here: [Group Specific]

So for now let's enjoy this milestone and there will be free drinks in the Psoriasis Club Bar for all of you all, well apart from our guests as you need to be a member to access the bar. [Group Specific]

Regards.

I have been contacted by someone (not a member) that it is no longer possible to read Psoriasis Club's posts on what was once known as Twitter but now just a dead bird without logging-in. I have checked it for myself and it is true.

Why am I bothered and posting this ?

#1 We have had a lot of followers on Twitter (some of you found us that way) and some still prefer reading the links I post to the forum rather than joining us here.

#2 I used to encourage our members to check out Twitter if you ever see the forum down as I will post updates there, and the best thing about it was that you could read my posts without needing an account.

#3 I did and still do post links to new threads on the public boards at Psoriasis Club as it does did bring us new members.

Obviesly there is nothing I can do about it and I will be keeping our account open, but I suggest you check out the bottom right of this page where it says "Social" I have put the official places that I post.

You will see we have 3 accounts Mastodon, PostNews and Twitter all have the same content, with the first two you don't need an account to read our posts but for the third one you now will.

I will continue to post on all three for now.

It's your choice if you want to use or follow Psoriasis Club, but I would say if you ever want to know what is going on if the forum is down or you want to know about new threads in the public boards Mastodon would be my choice as it's just like us "Independent"

*Thank you to the person that contacted me about the change on the dead bird, I wouldn't have known as I have to log-in to post.

Psoriasis Club Teens Weekender

I won't bore you with the history as it can all be found on the forum and our home page but it's Psoriasis Club's 13th birthday at the end of this month and I thought why not have a weekender.

So now we are teens (well not many of our members are, though some think they are) where do we go from here ? Well I recently announced that I have put enough funding in place to keep us going till 2025 so we will at least make it to 15. At the moment I see no reason to stop, but I don't like making promises I can't keep so for now let's just carry on.

I can remember reaching thirteen and my young friends asking me what it felt like, my answer was that it felt the same as it did yesterday. I did become an Uncle though not long after my thirteenth birthday and that felt a bit strange.

Is thirteen unlucky ? To some "Triskaidekaphobia" is a big thing so if you are one of those people please don't keep away from Psoriasis Club. You will come to no harm here and who knows it could end up being lucky for you as there are plenty of friendly members waiting to share information and support.

Another way of looking at it is you can't change your age so neither can we change the age of Psoriasis Club, and why should we when our members have made well over 200,000 posts. They should all feel very proud of what they have done to help Psoriasis Club become what it is over the past 13 years.

Thank you to all our members for getting us to our teens you are a great bunch and I couldn't do it without you. Have a tart.

*Oh whilst I was thinking about what to put for our 13th birthday I started a thread asking if anyone remembered being 13, it got some interesting replies and our members can read it here [Group Specific]

I would like to wish all our members and guests a very happy new year for 2023.

A special shout out goes to those members that keep coming back to update their threads, answer others questions and offer support. Though we are mostly a forum about psoriasis it's good to see the members only boards getting used often as it means others are here when needed to welcome our new members, I've seen all sorts of things posted in the off topic board over the years but the huge amount of genuine support offered to others when needed is something you should all be proud of.

I also want to thank our forum helpers Caroline, Jim and Kat for their continued support. They give up their time to help me in the background making sure we keep the place safe for our members and quickly pointing me to the spammers and scammers so you don't have to see them.

The forum isn't used as much these days as it used to be, but In case you missed it I added enough funds to the pot to keep us going to August 2025. That doesn't mean we won't go past 2025, but we will look at that when the time comes.

Thank you all for helping make what Psoriasis Club is, I couldn't do it without you.

I have added an addition to our contact form Contact as one annoying company keeps trying to contact me this past few months.

The addition includes "Psoriasis Club is not for sale"

So you may as well stop trying to bypass our filters and sending your contacts, every time you send a new one I block you, add a new filter and report it as spam.

Get over it, Psoriasis Club is not for sale and it never will be. I'm not going to mention your company and give you free publicity and I have seen your work, yes you do keep the forums going that you purchase and I congratulate you for that as it must be making you money but you fill them up with advertising and it does look like you end up with just your employees posting once the regular members leave. There is no way that I as the owner of Psoriasis Club can let that happen here as it goes against my reason for starting it in the first place and to be honest you would loose most of our long term members and end up just making it a money maker.

You obviously think we are worth investing in as you keep trying different ways to get in touch, but let me tell you that the buck stops here and Psoriasis Club is not about money. It goes against the whole point of why we are here, we are the only independent psoriasis website and that is the way we wish to stay.

So go and pester other forums I'm sure there are many that will take your money, but this one won't and every time you try contacting us the more stupid you are making your company look.

Psoriasis Club will remain the thorn in the side of all those that don't like it being here or think they can make money from it, you will not get rid of us, we are independent and proud of what we have so bugger off or get reported for spam.

Psoriasis Club has 11 years under it's belt

Well here we are rolling along into our 11th year and still going strong, we are still the only independent psoriasis website and what a great bunch of members we have. From an idea one night all those years ago we have achieved well over 200,000 posts and we should all be very proud of what we achieved.

It all started May 2010 on a free hosted forum with zero knowledge of what I was doing, it was very hard going and many a time I almost gave up but it was helping a handful of people and I just couldn't let them down. I decided if I wanted to keep Psoriasis Club going I would need to take full control and set up on my own server, so I purchased a hosting service in August 2011 and got to work building a better Psoriasis Club.

Unfortunately in those early days I was still learning how to use a computer and didn't know how to do full screen captures, but I have just checked on "Wayback Machine" and luckily for us they had found us in October 2011. Here is a screenshot of what they recorded.

As you can see it has changed a bit over the years and it's still evolving today, only this month I have added a new board and moved over 3000 posts to make it easier to find psoriasis threads.

So what does the future hold for Psoriasis Club in these days of so much social media ? Well there are so many ways of people communicating these days and there is no way we can compete, but to be honest I wouldn't want to change to any other type of format. I know younger people prefer other websites, but I still find a forum a lot easier to use and the information is simple to find so whilst I'm here Psoriasis Club will always be a forum.

We don't get found so much these days because everything is money driven, but I have noticed that we do have a much better quality of members than we did when I first started. I will never pay to get us found so all we can do is keep the forum active, we do this by posting in the public boards about our treatments, our experiences with psoriasis and answering new members questions.

Funding: I promised last year that I will keep Psoriasis Club going in the spirit that I have always wanted to run it without Advertising, Sponsors or Donations. That promise still stands today and I have already put the next two years funding in place, so as far as I'm concerned Psoriasis Club is here to stay for a lot longer yet and I aint ready to give up.

Over the years I have seen a lot of members come and go, but I have seen the proof with my own eyes on the forum that new members are always made welcome and can become part of our virtual friends.

Thank you all for your continued support, I couldn't do it without you.
Please note we have nothing to hide, and should you feel the need to hide your email by using a disposable Email address or a VPN/Proxy your account could be deleted.

We check all new registrations and are very proactive against spammers and scammers. If you sign up for membership using a disposable email or VPN/Proxy you risk getting your account deleted.

Psoriasis Club has a very good reputation of protecting it's members (we are a club) and our members feel safe. But if you sign up with a disposable email or VPN/Proxy why should we let you in ?

You may just be a genuine person looking after your privacy but using something to stop us checking you out is like letting you walk in to our club without knowing anything about you. All genuine people are very welcome here, but you have to let us check you out if not you could be here to spam or scam our members.

Should your account get deleted you can always contact us to discuss it, but our members are important and they come first. Join properly with a genuine email and a traceable IP and you will get accepted, don't and you risk your account getting deleted.

Don't like this policy ? ....................................... Then go elsewhere as our members like it that way.
