Hello 2U all - Caroline - Tue-08-11-2011

By accident, via twitter, stumbled upon this forum.
I see well recognizable posts over here.
Myself, I have Arthritis Psoriatica. But fortunately I have it under control.
Have been using Methotrexate for a short time, but felt that this was too heavy for my metabolism.
After this I found about the fumarates, which are under study over here in the Netherlands. And now I am using this and can very well live with it. It is not possible to run anymore, but I can very well do a lot of spinning.
The advantage of fumarates is that it is normal for your metabolism. The theory behind it, search for Schweckendieck on Google, is that psoriasis is not a skin disease but a problem in the immune system, which results in skin problems or arthritis.

Hello Wave

Thanks for your welcome messages.

By the way, there is also a Dutch forum on psoriasis, even more than one, the one that I am referring to is from a patient group that is currently very active in initiating a scientific research, the first even done by a patient group, in the Netherlands in this situation. In the research it should get clear on how dymethylfumarate therapies with different kinds of appliance, function better or less better than each other. And also methotrexate will be compared to the best of the outcome of the first past of the research.

hi and welcome to the forum! I have also just discovered spinning and love it though my knees aren't up to the standing parts so I have to stay seated.

Thumb It will take some time but after a while maybe also the standing parts will be do-able. Your condition will rise like a cannonball if you regularly go spinning.

LOL I was picturing them spinning till dizzy! I googled and found out...
What Happens in a Spinning Class?

Imagine a whole bunch of exercise bikes lined up inside a health club studio. Riders are on each one, spinning the pedals at a rapid pace. The lights are turned down, pumped up music fills the air and an instructor with a headset sits atop a lead bike, calling out commands.
