Update
Time for an update on this thread.
All is going very well and 8 weeks between shots looks like the way to go, my score is now down to 7 (and catching Caroline) and I'm getting through the winter better than I have done for a long long while. The only problem I have had in the past 3 months was a bout of flu. It lasted for about three weeks all in all, and was the worst flu I have ever had. I have also lost my sense of smell, and my taste buds don't seem to be working very well. The doctor said it was probably down to the flu and should come back, but the Stelara would have made it harder for me to fight the virus. That's the worst thing I have found about Stelara, as it's designed to be taken every 12 weeks, you cant just stop taking it if you get a virus or infection like you could with the other Bio's (Enbrel Humira) And if you have just had your shot and you get something a couple of weeks later, it could be a long fight to get through it. But I'm still very happy with Stelara and it will be 3 years in May apart from the short break I had last year. My skin is clear apart from some pink tint to the patch's on my legs, but no flakes anywhere and the psoriatic arthritis now seems to be under control with the 8 week shots. Next appointment with my dermatologist in March, will update then. |

RE: Stelara round two
What a result.
![]() Had my appointment with my dermatologist today and she was amazed, she said "this must be the best I have ever seen it". She had a good look and started to do the PASI score but decided in the end there was no point and gave me a ZERO. OK I did push her a little to give me a zero but she said yes lets do it, as it would probably only be 1 anyway. So for the first time ever I have got a PASI of ZERO. And better still, I still use the Psoriasis Score that I made to keep track of things for myself, and I have just gone through it and got a score of 3. Yep a THREE and I think that makes me the lowest scorer on Psoriasis Club. We are continuing with a 45mg shot of Stelara every 8 weeks and I go back again in 2 months. |

RE: Stelara round two
That's great news Fred. I'll be starting year 2 continuous in June. Works wonders for me. Very minor flare up through the winter months but I attribute that to lack of sunlight. I'm on 90 mg every 3 months due to a wee bit excessive weight ( well alright, a lot of extra weight
). Good to know that it should be good for a least another year. Fortunately, I suffer no ill effects after getting the shots.Take care Scotty |

RE: Stelara round two
@Scotty I did try 90mg because of my weight 100kg, but I found it made me feel to much like a Zombie. So we switched to 45mg every 8 weeks, I don't think this has been tried before, but it's going well for me.
@Krissie Thank you, should we stop dancing know? You never know who's watching.

RE: Stelara round two
With the dancing with Krissie you can reduce some of your weight
, if at least you do some jiving and chachacha, but it might be that Krissie is more onto ballroom with her red dress, so a bit of waltzing can also be nice. Anyway congratulations with your current state, you even passed me ! Still I think I'm dancing better than you.
